Help children breathe slower by coaching them through the process. As they breathe, say, "Breathe in...2...3...4...and out...2...3..4..." Repeat several times.
Children can benefit from deep breathing, too. Teach your child how to breathe deeply by having him lie on his back with a toy on his stomach and practice making the toy rise with each deep breath.
As a parent, you love your children and want only what's best for them. There's nothing wrong with that, right? After all, isn't it your job as a parent to protect and provide for your child? The answer isn't as straightforward as you might think. Protecting and providing for your children are, of course, two of your most important jobs as a parent.
